29 East is a Vancouver based alt funk rock band that launched at the start of the end of the world. They spent their adolescence releasing a myriad of singles ranging from the sweet and dulcet tones of “Ebb & Flow” to the upbeat anthem for infatuation “Quick Love.” With a tour of Western Canada, multiple viral videos, and a sweeping success at the “Best in Vancouver” competition under their belts 29 East felt ready to release their debut EP, “29E.”
In 2020, Cole returned to the west coast, enrolling at Nimbus School of Recording and Media in Vancouver, where he earned a Diploma in Advanced Music Production and Engineering. Despite the pandemic's challenges, Cole's resilience flourished, propelling him deeper into his craft through online learning and hands-on experiences with the band, 29 East.
Cole's journey continued as he honed his skills in engineering, production, mixing, and performance with 29 East, a formative period marked by the recording of their EP "29E." It was the first recording of theirs not engineered by Cole, providing him with a deeper understanding of life on the "other side of the glass." This experience profoundly impacted Cole's practice as an engineer and producer, giving him a more holistic understanding of the recording process.
